  • 1966 to 1971 Study of mechanical engineering at the Technical Universiy Hannover, junior research assistant
  • 1972 to 1978 Research assistant and lecture assistant at the institute for reciprocating engines at Technical University Hannover
  • 1974 to 1978 Doctorate graduation with an experimental research project about the similitude and noise development of hydraulic piston pumps

Vocational practice:

  • 1978 to 1981 Development engineer at Motorenwerke Mannheim AG in the fields motorized special equipment, special tasks (block heat and power plants, heat pumps, management assistant), later: development of new energy management
  • 1982 to 1985 Head of the plant development, dept. CS 1
  • since 1985 Professor at the University for Applied Sciences Wiesbaden in Rüsselsheim, department for Mechanical Engineering, main fields of lecture: combustion engines, technical mechanics and technical communication
  • since autumn 2007 passive part of the partial retirement
